Hello and Welcome

It is with unbridled excitement that I have poked my magpie beak proverbially above the parapet to bring you an online treasure trove of jewellery; mixing up unique, avantgarde, vintage pieces with one -off contemporary ones. It is my goal to banish the bland and usher in the unusual!

Baroque Rocks went from being a hazy, ten year day-dream to becoming an exciting reality as a Limited Company in 2016.  Whilst treasure seeking is my forte and I had rather regarded myself as something of the canny collector, I realised that I really needed to gain a greater knowledge of this sparkling sphere. An old university friend gave me some tremendous advice which was to re-enter the world of education!  I attended numerous courses at the Gemmological Association, Birmingham Assay Office and wrote countless essays for the National Association of Jewellers!  I thought I had a passion for jewels, but gaining an academic insight to this vast topic was all encompassing and my re-occurring mantra has become “Brilliance, Fire and Scintillation” – attributes that describe the quality of a diamond.

I gave up my job in banking, swapping corporate Canary Wharf for the glittering avenues of Hatton Garden, The Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham, Bond Street and Mayfair. It has been a joy.

I truly hope that you enjoy navigating through the sea of jewels that is Baroque Rocks and I will continue to indulge in my passion for seeking out the beautiful and unusual, favouring the late 20th century (1960s, 1970s onwards), in gold glorious gold and those gemstone temptresses! I believe there is something for everyone here, with first class finds that are alluringly affordable.  We very much look forward to helping you adorn your good selves with alluring amethysts, dazzling diamonds, glittering garnets, elegant emeralds, astounding aquamarines, perfect pearls, ravishing rubies, phenomenal peridots, stupendous sapphires, opulent opals, tantalising topazes, chic citrines, tremendous tanzanites and...  My thesaurus has run out but you get the gist - have a look, dear fellow magpies, you will receive a queen's welcome!
