Well, Magpies, we’re back! After a rather long summer interlude, September being now well underway, the fashionistas have firmly decamped to AW26, yet Blighty remains gloriously basked in sunshine. Cue an “Aurelian Alert!” where back to school means back to discipline — and, rather like laying out one’s uniform, back to the business of rotating one’s jewels. Sapphires are September’s sartorial secret weapon, spanning a spectacular rainbow of hues — from inky midnight and Ceylon cerulean to mellow yellow and white-hot…well Diamond white!! They come in every colour of the spectrum, except red. That particular Corundum hue belongs to the Ruby—a classic conundrum: same mineral, different gemstone. Consider this golden nugget your first lesson of term. So, without further ado, here’s our September syllabus: from the school run to boardroom, to perhaps a cocktail bar or sumptuous supper — Sapphire style.
First up, we have an upcycled Seventies Sapphire Siren! A cocktail ring so statement, so sculptural and so gloriously untamed, it is Brutalist glamour at its most decadently delicious. White-hot Sapphires dance across jagged, textured Gold, punctuated by a trio of vivid green Emeralds for an irresistible hit of jewel-toned excess. A ravishing reworking of the unconventional — utterly unapologetic, irresistibly rebellious and rather like a wearable piece of rock ’n’ roll. Joining the register, we have a Green Tsavorite Garnet and Yellow Sapphire Ring, where verdant greens meet sparkling sunshine in one gloriously gem-stoned creation. A veritable cocktail cornucopia of twelve light green Tsavorite Garnets, one richly saturated dark green Tsavorite Garnet and four vibrant Yellow Sapphires!! Bold exuberance that will have the school gates gawping and positively green at the gills.
Neck – st up we have a clavicle cracker: Cabochon Blue Ceylon Sapphireaccented with a quartet of Diamonds! Really just an exceptional piece of 18K Gold workmanship and very in keeping with Elizabeth Gage Templar temptations. Acquisition is a must - ‘tis written in the script!
Continuing on and “Chanel-ing” our Sapphire studies, we have this corker of a cocktail ring that the exceptionally well educated may note bears more than a passing resemblance to the High Jewellery creations Coco herself defined. Blue Topazes and Sapphires on latticed 18K Gold make for pure extravagant opulence.
Decadence for your decolletage showcasing sheer sensational splendour, in insane 18K Gold fashioned into an intricate chevron weave and crowned with a smouldering sizeable Ceylon Sapphire! A literal masterclass in goldwork where sophistication is woven into every detail – a feat of craftsmanship and a serious Sapphire!! This is a lesson in unrestrained magnificence.
